Philippines visa documents: full checklist
Compiled from the e-Visa portal's requirements and a real approved application. The embassy most often asks for the cover letter and itinerary — prepare them upfront.
Personal documents
- Passport — biometric, valid at least 6 months after departure. Scan of the main page. Passport type in the form: ORDINARY.
- ICAO-standard photo — passport style: light background, no glasses, facing the camera.
- Second ID — national ID card or driving licence.
- Proof of address — a bank or credit-card statement showing your address.
Finances and employment
- Bank statement verified by the bank, as proof of funds.
- Employment letter stating your salary, or proof of business if self-employed. A sponsor's guarantee letter with proof of their income also works.
The trip
- Return flight booking — the embassy checks the departure from the Philippines.
- Accommodation booking for all trip dates.
- Cover letter explaining the purpose of the trip, and a day-by-day itinerary.
Children
A child travelling without one parent needs consent from the other parent or guardian. You can apply on someone else's behalf only for a family member, with proof of relationship.
Common mistakes
- passport type "Official" instead of ORDINARY — the application is returned;
- no booking for leaving the Philippines — only an inbound ticket;
- no cover letter or itinerary — the embassy asks for them and the timeline slips;
- unreadable scans or a non-compliant photo.
